Sealed bids will be received for the CDBG No. 18p-y-095-1-6013, Shellman Bluff Road and Belle Hammock Road, Water System Improvements, in McIntosh County Commissioners Office, until Thursday, March 26 at 2:00 (Local Time), at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
The work for this project shall consist of two (2) separate contracts.
Contract number 1 shall consist of all items within Section 1000 and 2000 of the Bid Proposal (BP-3) and shall consist generally of the following:
Installation of erosion and sediment control facilities, ±16,967 LF 6” C900 DR 18 PVC water main, ±87 EA ¾” service connection (transfer of service), ±19 fire hydrant assemblies, pavement removal and replacement, connection to existing water mains, and appertenances.
Contract number 2 shall consist of all items within Section 3000 of the Bid Proposal (BP-4) and shall generally of the following:
Installation of one (1) 350 GPM Deep Well pump, chlorine equipment, fluoride equipment, pump house, electrical items, meter, piping, telemetry system, replacing the old oil lubed deep well pump in the County’s existing deep well with a new submersible turbine deep well pump, abandoning the County’s contaminated well with rock and grout, and associated appurtenances. Bids will only be accepted from well drillers licensed by the State of Georgia.
All work on the Project must be completed within 180 consecutive calendar days of date of notice to proceed.
Contractors may bid one or both contracts.
Bid shall be submitted on Bid Proposal Forms furnished for that purpose, in accordance with the Contract Documents and the Plans and Specifications which are on file and may be reviewed at the office of Hofstadter and Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 4571 Arkwright Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.
Copies of Bid Forms, Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents may be obtained from Hofstadter and Associates, Inc. Consulting Engineers, 4571 Arkwright Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, upon deposit of $175.00 per hard copy set of plans and specifications and $100.00 per digital set (.pdf format). No refund will be made for returned documents.
No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with the McIntosh County, Georgia prior to the time set forth above, and accompanied by a Bidder’s Bond, payable to McIntosh County, Georgia, for 10 percent of the amount of the bid; to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the bidder fail to enter promptly into a written contract and furnish the required Payment Bond and Performance Bond and Insurance Certificates. Both the Payment Bond and Performance Bond shall be equal to 100% of the contract amount. Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened. McIntosh County encourages Section 3 Businesses to participate in the bidding process.
No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of bids. The McIntosh County, Georgia reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to overlook and/or disregard informalities or irregularities in the proposals.
