Sealed bids will be received for the Storm Drainage and Street Improvements, Forest Lake Subdivision, CDBG No. 17p-y-024-1-5925 at the Charlton County Courthouse Annex, 68 Kingsland, BOC Meeting Room, Folkston, GA 31537, Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. (Local Time), at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
There will be a Pre-Bid Conference on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. (Local Time) at the Charlton County Courthouse Annex, 68 Kingsland, BOC Meeting Room, Folkston, GA 31537. This Pre-Bid Conference is not mandatory, but highly recommended.
The work under this Contract will consist generally of the following:
The construction of ± 1.03 miles of grading, ± 11,901 SY of 8” soil cement base, ± 315 tons of Portland cement, ± 1,362 tons of 12.5mm superpave, ± 798, 84, and 40 LF of storm drain pipe 18”, 24”, and 30” respectively, and all appurtenances necessary for a complete job.
All work on the Project must be completed within 210 consecutive calendar days of date of notice to proceed.
Bid shall be submitted on Bid Proposal Forms furnished for that purpose, in accordance with the Contract Documents and the Plans and Specifications, which are on file and may be reviewed at the office of the County Administrator and the office of Hofstadter and Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 4571 Arkwright Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.
Copies of Bid Forms, Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents may be obtained from Hofstadter and Associates, Inc., 4571 Arkwright Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, upon deposit of $250.00 per hard copy set and $200.00 per digital set (.pdf format). No refund will be made for returned documents.
Bidding Documents will also be available for purchase with credit card: Digital Set ($200.00) or Hard Set ($250.00)
No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with Charlton County prior to the time set forth above, and accompanied by a Bidder’s Bond, payable to Charlton County, for 10 percent of the amount of the bid; to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the bidder fail to enter promptly into a written contract and furnish the required Payment Bond and Performance Bond and Insurance Certificates. Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened.
This project is covered under the requirements of Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968. The policy requires that contracting opportunities should be posted or advertised in a minimum of three locations.
No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of bids. Charlton County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to overlook and/or disregard informalities or irregularities in the proposals.
